West Chester Makes Top 100

If you're looking for a great place to raise your family it would be difficult to do much better than West Chester, according to a new Frommer's book by Bert Sperling & Peter Sander entitled Best Places to Raise Your Family (Wiley Publishing, 2006; 464 pages). It lists the top 100 affordable and livable communities in the US.

Of special interest, West Chester was listed in the top ten for Best Small-Town Downtowns.

The authors write "West Chester offers a right-sized combination of stable employment, local downtown amenities, a college presence, historic interest, recreation, and convenience at an attractive cost."

Among the "Pros" are an attractive town center, education, and diverse economic base.
